for a Plus Size Clothing Boutique

The challenge

Beautifull Boutique had built a loyal customer base and a strong reputation for offering stylish, well-fitting clothing for plus-size women, but It was time for a new chapter.

This was more than just a name change, it was an opportunity to rebuild the brand from the ground up. To reposition the boutique as a modern, elevated destination that speaks to plus-size women without singling them out. A brand that feels aspirational without being exclusionary. And that moves away from size-specific language while still connecting to ideas of fullness, depth, and completeness.

The process

We started with the core insight: plus-size women don’t want to shop a category. They want to shop a brand. A brand with personality, with depth, and a point of view. So we built one.

The name Chapter was chosen to imply depth, substance and an ongoing evolution. A chapter isn’t a page or a line but a meaningful section of a larger story. Your style journey doesn’t end; it just keeps getting better with each new chapter. The name is modern, memorable, and free of any size-specific language while still connecting to ideas of fullness and completeness.

The approach

The visual identity drew from one of history’s most beautiful design traditions: the illuminated letter. Those gilded, intricate capitals that opened every chapter in medieval manuscripts became the foundation for Chapter’s custom icon. A stylized letter “C” surrounded by ornamental flourishes that nod to centuries-old artistry while feeling thoroughly contemporary. We paired this with a distinctive wordmark and a refined palette of Rose, Linen, and Ink for a warm, sophisticated palette rooted in timeless femininity.

The brand voice was crafted to be clever, warm, and empowering. The messaging framework is built around the metaphor of storytelling: at Chapter, you’re not a side note in someone else’s story but the protagonist of your own. We’ve curated a collection where you get to be choosy, and where fit isn’t a gamble.

We didn’t just unveil a new name, we told a story.

THE RESULTS

What could have been a disruptive transition became a defining moment. Chapter launched with a cohesive, elevated identity that set it apart in the market. The branding gave the boutique the kind of presence that customers want to be part of.

Loyal customers accepted the change, in fact they championed it. And by building the brand around story rather than size, Chapter attracted new shoppers who may never have discovered the boutique under its previous name. Chapter didn’t lose its following. It expanded it.
